Patients often feel like that doctors are the only source of health knowledge. The truth is that when you can’t find help from a doctor, you often have to find answers on your own.

Joan Beal is a wife, blogger, and MS patient advocate who played a major role in getting a controversial and life changing MS treatment to the United States. Her husband was diagnosed with MS and as a result she became a citizen scientist and dug through mountains of scientific literature to find answers for her husband’s care.
